BlogWho?

Um, not to sound jealous or anything, but...could y'all just shut up about the great time you are going to have at a certain bloggers' conference in a certain fun city? Enough, already.

And, while you're at it, please don't spend time bemoaning leaving the kids behind while you attend (mamabird, I'm talking to you!). Just mail your plane ticket to me if you're that torn up about neglecting your motherly duties. I neglect my motherly duties all the time, anyway. I might as well have some real fun while I'm at it.

Sheesh.

[Oh, and if you are interested in participating in this week's book giveaway - Why I'm Like This, by Cynthia Kaplan - please go to yesterday's post and let me know in the comments. Thanks.]

[Cranky? Moi? Hell, yeah.]

  1. Yeh, it is kinda rude to complain about the privilege when there are some of us that arent' actually going.

  2. I'm still fairly new to this whole bloggin' thingamabob and don't know much about such a conference. And I am glad I don't because I'd be pissed if I knew what I was missing out on. In this case Ignorance is Bliss.

  3. I know. I totally agree and am green with envy of those who are going...

  4. Oh man. Do not read my blog today.

My kids NEARLY cut up my ticket.

I dithered too long and the conference-whose-name-shall-not-be-mentioned sold out.

Also, I wasn't sure how fun it would be if I had to hang out with my breast pump half the time, although I suppose it's one way to get to know people a little better.

  7. BAH. I'm jealous of the Blogherites too. When they all get back and start squeeing and posting pictures and talking about how they met Finslippy, I'm going to boycott their blogs. FOREVAH.

  8. Yeah, I am bummed I'm not going and am tired of hearing about it. My cousin Melissa at Suburban Bliss is going to be there talking about our grandpa's penile implant. And I'm missing it.

  9. Word. And I also don't want to hear how fabtastic it was now that everyone is back.

  10. I do, however, find all the post-BlogHer petty drama posts highly entertaining. They make me feel like I actually have a life.

I'm ignoring all this nonsense about Blogher. It's just a conspiracy theory like UFO's.

  12. I'm annoyed, too. I don't want to hear about how fabulous and awesome it all is.

But look at it this way, next week we can leave a bunch of thinly-veiled bitchy, passive aggressive comments on all their blogs, that come off sounding nice until 5 minutes later when they think about it.

    Are you in?

  13. Blog This Mom! took things into her own hands and the San Diego Bloggers are doing BitchHer 2008 on Friday--I can't wait!

  14. Man, somebody is a little cranky.

Alright, alright, I won't express my true, authentic feelings. I won't miss my kids. I'll just drink cocktails, socialize and have fun. I just want to make you happy. So I'll do it for you. :)

  15. I'm just going to talk about how fabulous it would be IF I were going.

Hehehehe. At least you'd be "recognized" if you went to the No-Name Conference. If I went, it would truly be a "BlogWho" situation. :)

Just remember, San Fran isn't known for its fabulous weather in the summer. Or, to paraphrase Mark Twain: The coldest winter I ever spent was summer in San Francisco.

I just spent 15 minutes looking for the post you won the Imperfect Parent award for (something to do with not recognizing your child at a pool?) and I give up. Hints?

  23. Sorry, anonymous! I de-published it by mistake. It's back, in the June archives.

  25. What do you say we quick start up Mrs. G's Women's Colony while all the hoity-toities are at BlogHer? THEN we'll see who are the jealous ones.

  26. You crack me up. I TOTALLY FEEL THE SAME WAY about the Blogher thing. I think we should hold our own bloggy conference and not invite all those who got to go to Blogher.

Because I am nothing if not mature.
