Playing Favorites

Larry came into the bedroom at 7 o'clock this morning and woke me saying, "Don't you need to get up to go to the Farmers' Market?" Whereupon Susie - who, yes, still climbs into our bed every single night even though she is 4 and no, I don't think this habit is going to keep her from growing up and being independent although I sure wish she would stop kicking me in the kidneys while I sleep....

I digress. Susie opened her eyes and said, "You let Mommy get up when she wants!"

Who's Mommy's new favorite, hmmmm?

  1. I wish Susie would teach my girls to let me wake up when I want to!

  2. I *love* it!!! You know, though, she's just racking up the brownie points for when she's a teenager and doesn't want to get up either.

  3. That's so nice! I hope my kids do that too (when I have them, that is) and send Daddy to the farmer's market on his own, with his own canvas bags, instead.

  6. What a great kid! Now if you could just get her to stay in her own bed she would be perfect! :)

  7. It kind of makes up for that whole potty training thing, doesn't it?

  8. My three year old doesn't even start the night in his own bed. Yesterday my daughter asked him to get her overnight bag out from under his bed. He promptly ran into my room and crawled under my bed searching for it. My kids were laughing so hard it was a miracle they could manage to retell the story among the three of them.
