The Giants Will Have To Win Without Me

I'm older than the Super Bowl.  Weird.
No one has invited us to a Super Bowl party.  I'm telling you, I have all the wrong friends.  What's up with these people?  Don't they know we don't have cable; and, even if we did, our circa 2001 TV is miniscule compared to  present-day viewing standards?

Maybe they realize that Larry is from New England and I'm from New York and we probably shouldn't be in the same room watching this game.

So everyone else gets to eat nachos and see the fun commercials tonight except me.  Fine.  I'll just sit home and live-tweet NOT watching the Super Bowl.  That should be fascinating.

  1. Be glad you're not watching on our 1987 TV. Our TV is old enough to drink! But it still doesn't get to have cable.

  2. You can come watch the game at our house. My husband will be watching the game while the rest of us make cupcakes.
(I will be making some fresh guacamole, so it might be worth it to you to make the trip)

  6. No cable here either- my husband and I were watching the specials on the DVDs of Ken Burns' National Parks series (we just finished the series last week). Fabulously gorgeous! I highly recommend the series if you haven't seen it.

  7. You missed the once a year lesson in Roman numerals - i think you owe it to the kid to get cable.

  9. We have cable, we did watch it, and I still feel sorry for myself 'cause we never get invited to a superbowl party!

But, let me just say that my 17-year-old daughter-who-know-longer-ever-wants-to-cuddle, snuggled with me for a whole 30 minutes during the game last night! Now, thank goodness we didn't get invited to a party. I held my breath the whole time wondering when she'd remember that she doesn't need cuddling any more...

  10. No party here, either. We tried to invite ourselves to the relatives' house but they had an invite elsewhere.
If it helps, neither the game nor the commercials were exciting enough to keep me awake. I worked on a jigsaw puzzle and fell asleep on the couch.

  11. The Super Bowl is broadcast on regular channels, so you don't need cable. That being said, cable rules! We watched the game at my dads house, and my lame brother made a roast beef and mashed potato Sunday dinner to eat while watching the game. The Super Bowl just isn't the same without chips and dip.
