True Love

I stayed up late to listen to McCain's speech (I'm an equal-opportunity convention watcher) with the kids, and now I must scurry off to bed before I walk into my kitchen and see something scurry across the floor. As I did last night. Which brings me to

Reasons I Love My Husband

  1. He always agrees to have "just one more" kid.
  2. He didn't drag me up to Maine over Labor Day weekend.
  3. He puts up with tripping over knitting bags and yarn stash in the bedroom.
  4. I spend all his money and he never complains.
  5. When woken at midnight by my decidedly female "Eeek!", he staggers out of bed and sets mousetraps in our kitchen.
  6. Before he goes to work, he empties said traps of whatever carcasses may lie therein.
If that's not love, what is?

  1. Sometimes they are worth keeping. Glad yours makes you happy (for the moment, anyway)!

  2. In my case it would be letting your brother-in-law and nephew live in your spare room for 7 weeks and then renting an apartment in your own name so you could get them out. Yep, true love.

  3. It's not true love (in my opinion) until you sing a duet over the dishes.

  4. I missed the convention tonight due to a swim meet. Any hair licking?

If I screeched "EEK!", my dear sweet Nacho would ask "Well, did you set the traps?" But I love him anyway

  10. That's so awesome! We've had two "just one mores". I would go for another, but this time he's really done.

  11. Mine agreed to one more baby, and now I keep apologizing for causing him worry, one of the things I think he was trying to avoid. Not to mention the extra work I've caused him. Worry and Guilt, that's what I've got. But is he complaining? Of course not. I chose well, too.

  12. My MIL called me yesterday and urged me to watch Palin's RNC speech, she said it would make me change my mind about her. So I TRIED to watch it, watched about 15 minutes or so, but it was like being at a Tupperware party. I remain underwhelmed and slightly annoyed. Brad likes her though.

  14. True love deals with big spiders and furry rodents. I always tell husband that's why I married him.

    Props to your guy.

  18. Yep, that's love.
My husband doesn't do rodents or yardwork but he cooks. I think a husband that cooks is a keeper too.

  24. oh god, i freakin' hate mice. if i see one more in my apt - we are moving. i can't take it.

  25. Love and conscientious pest control are often confused.

  26. Does he clean up vomit too? My husband, God bless him, does vomit, mousetraps, dishes, and so much more. Love is grand.

  27. Mine emptied mice traps for me Up North, but lizards (dead or alive) give him the willies. Still, he's a keeper.

We always trade off cleaning the vomity child and the vomity bed -- cause there's usually both at once. ;)

  28. Mine had to get two mice once in our garage..with a shovel! He is the most gentle soul and normally wouldn't prefer to do that but he knew he had to so he did it..had me distract the kids as he disposed of them since they are such bleeding hearts. But..in the middle of the night to set traps? He would say, "You're an old farm girl. You can do it!" Emptying traps? My job, I'm sure. Thankfully we've had no mice in our house *knocking on woood*
