And yes, that picture to the right shows exactly how we all feel today...

Three cheers for Mother Nature, who finally delivered us some snow this morning. Although, I must say it is rather pathetic to see my poor deprived children dancing around chanting, "There's tons of snow!" when the grass is still showing. Then again, it takes some skill to go sledding in less than 2 inches of snow, doesn't it?
Three cheers for Susie, who decided she would like to go sledding this year. That is, until her mother managed to dump her face-first in the snow. Whoops.

Three cheers for my aging brain, which has forgotten everything else I wished to post today. Off to bake cinnamon rolls and make some hot cocoa - it's snowing!
It must be the Day of the Dishwasher today, this is the third post I've seen about dishwashers this morning. Makes me wonder if I should write about mine...
ReplyDeleteI think I actually had that dishwasher in the picture! When we first moved into our house someone gave us their old one, that of course "worked great" until we used it once then it died.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could muster up that sort of enthusiasm for snow. Of course, once the weathermen are measuring season totals to date in feet, it loses its luster.
ReplyDeleteActually, I wish I could muster up that sort of enthusiasm for anything. Why can't I even take a doze with the baby when I'm sick? Why? WHY? Wouldn't you think the older kids would rather have a dozing Mama than a really pissed-off Mama because they woke her up?
Working appliances are absolutely sexy. Almost as a good a diaper change and getting up in the night with the baby!
ReplyDeleteSnow is snow, no matter the accumulation. Unfortunately, we have ice today. Pretty to look at, but that's about it.
ReplyDeleteYou will NOT believe this -- that picture is of the exact dishwasher that I grew up with! My mom was such a prima donna. Of course, she worked at a well-paying job, and she also had a maid during the day. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear yours is working. Aren't men that fix things sexy...?
My sister had that dishwasher--I was fascinated by it. And yes, working appliances are the epitome of sexy.
ReplyDeleteMy kids were so happy to get the day off from school and go out in the snow. At least they did not clean the snow off the cars with a metal shovel, like that did right after I bought my Camry. There are still scratches in the paint on the roof and hood. I figure someone else will hit me again on my commute and I can get the whole car repainted.
ReplyDeleteHaving recently recommissioned my own dishwasher, I feel your elation! And that rare snow! Yay for you! Now when you get SERIOUS about sledding, get over here and Team Testosterone will show Susie how it's done on 2 feet of snow, okay?
ReplyDeleteYou are HAPPY to have snow? are you insane??? I will send you some of ours....we have an overabundance! And another foot is predicted for tomorrow. Come to NH and you can have as much snow as you want!
ReplyDeleteVery hilarious about taking some skill to go sledding in less 2 inches of snow.
ReplyDeleteIt's 4pm and I can still see the tips of the grass, but the younger ones went sledding anyway. Tomorrow's prediction for ice makes me think we are in for another "inclement weather" day. (I'm too embarrassed to say "snow day.")
ReplyDeleteHusbands who fix dishwashers deserve to be treated extra-special.
Bejesus! Where do you live that you're HAPPY to see snow?
ReplyDeleteSince we've moved from WI we haven't seen much snow. Cinnamon Buns and Hot Coco....Wow! you're putting the rest of us to shame.
ReplyDeleteTHREE CHEERS FOR SC!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI CAN FEEL YOUR HAPPINESS ALL THE WAY OVER HERE!!!!!
Please send some of your snow my way. My yard is way to weed ridden and covered with garbage and I don't feel like cleaning it up yet. So snow would be appreciated to cover up the mess.
ReplyDeleteHorray!!! A Dishwasher that works. I'll just live vicariously through you - o.k.
Maybe if I play up the sexiness of working appliances I can get my hubs to fix (or buy me a new) stove? hmmmm. . .
ReplyDeleteWe used to have a portable dishwasher. It was OLD, LOUD, and started leaking. However, Devildog would fall asleep every single time I turned that bugger on to wash the dishes. Now our dishwasher is a human.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I refuse to comment about the snow. I live in Florida for a reason.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you're dishwasher has been resurrected! Hooray!
ReplyDeleteWorking appliances are totally hot.
ReplyDeleteWorking Appliances are so sexy, so are the men in our lives who fix them. WTG Larry! I am glad your kids are enjoying the snow.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I wish I could send you ours! The neighborhood kids aren't even sledding or playing in it anymore, I think they're tired of it as well. :/
ReplyDeleteEw. Freaking HATE snow! Hate its ugly, stinking guts! Although, we didn't get any this year until like mid-December and I was really glad to see it. I'd be fine to see it run along now, though.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are waiting for snow.. I keep saying we will NOT get snow, but there they sit still waiting!
