Sunday Shorts

...now with even more abbreviated prose!

Still sick...it's been a month.  I can only assume this is the beginning of the end.

Yum.
I'm not giving up my ChikFilA waffle fries OR my gay friends.  So there.  Get off the barricades, people, and get to know each other.  Who knows?  That might even lead to more mutual understanding.  I can dream, can't I?

Anna decided to move out and get her own place (with a friend).  It's tiny, but at least it doesn't have orange shag carpeting like mine and Larry's first apartment, 22 years ago.  I remember inviting a friend over for dinner our first week there and lounging around on big floor pillows because we didn't have any furniture.  The friend complimented us on the decor.  "Nouvelle Bordello," I believe he called it.

Anyway, Anna's apartment is much nicer than that.  I'm actually jealous of her stackable washer/dryer set.

Brian is threatening to throw up (as is his wont).  I know!  The excitement!  Gotta go.

    Thanks so much for the Atlantic link! What irks me so much about the whole situation is people act like we are not allowed to have differences of opinion or free speech anymore.

    I absolutely agree with you about the fries and the friends! I will also add that I don't usually let my lunch locations choose my moral views.
    I cannot believe that Anna is all grown up. I remember when I was all sympathic about your bratty teenager woes as my own(bratty teenager) gave me the evil eye from across the room. Sniff, sniff, now I'm feeling all nostalgic

    Yep, read the Atlantic article and I agree. Why give up either good thing (waffle fries, friendship)?
    How are you feeling about having your first kid officially moved out?

    Mine moves out on Monday.

    I feel the same as you---I don't like throwing away relationships with people or organizations just because I don't agree with them---i think there are better, less divisive ways to make changes.

    I feel the same way about the plethora of recall elections out there just because a school board member or council member makes a decision you don't like. Vote them out the next time or go to the meetings and voice your opinion!

    The house we live in now had bright orange shag carpeting in the living/dining/ hallway. After we looked at it the first time, my wife said to the realtor that the carpet had to go. Thr realtor exclaimed, "YA THINK!!"
    The funny thing is that orange crap covered up a nice hardwood floor.

    There's a chik-fil-a in West Hollywood, where a lot of gays live. I think the owner of that franchise came out and said he wouldn't tolerate anti-gay attitudes at his place so buyer beware. Me? I never eat there. Too far when I have McDonald's fries 2 blocks away.

    It's an interesting point--and I did read the article--but I am one that votes with my pocketbook, and believes others have the right to do so as well. I absolutely feel he has the right to his opinions and to donate money where he wants, but since that's not where I want my money to go I just shop elsewhere.

    The only thing I've ever had at a ChikFiLa was a strawberry milkshake and I must admit it was divine.
