Our home school clubs got together at a park yesterday afternoon, where the kids played happily and we moms chatted and shared my chocolate. (And when will you people figure out that this homeschooling thing? It's all about us moms. If the kids were in school, we might have to get full-time jobs or something. And what fun is that?)
Where was I? Oh, yes - I noticed that one of my friends had 2 of her fingers taped together and asked what happened. Turns out she had broken one of them (pay attention now) by tripping over a vacuum cleaner cord. Who knew that cleaning your carpets could be so dangerous?
Ladies, I believe this leads us to an obvious conclusion: vacuuming is an activity that should only be undertaken by a trained professional. Spread the word.
Please don't let my Hubby know this. He already has an irrational fear of the vacuum cleaner.
ReplyDeleteOne of my kids thinks that vacuuming is fun.
ReplyDeleteI will not tell him otherwise.
Oh I love it. Perhaps the vacuums could all come with warning on the boxes. That would help.
ReplyDeleteI tripped over my vacuum cleaner cord last week. Luckily, I only got bruises... and a bad scare close to the stairs.
ReplyDelete[smacks forehead] I never thought of blogging it!
My husband is pretty sure I'm a trained professional. Obviously, he missed my tripping incident.
Chocolate....Mmmmmmmmm
(Only lost 0.2 pounds this past week, and half of that was my shoes--I was desperate, so I removed them for the first time at a meeting)
And dusting can cause serious sinus infections (true story) and dishes can cause dry skin which cracks and bleeds and mopping wet tile can cause you to unwillingly do the splits and throw out your back. Yes, my friend, housework is bad.
ReplyDeleteYou just summed up my husband's entire reaction to my first convo with him about homeschooling. While holding my 3rd baby in my arms, I sat him down, took a deep breath, and told him I wanted to homeschool.
ReplyDeleteHis reaction? He dryly said, "I always knew you'd do anything to get out of going back to work someday".
I concur. Which could explain why I NEVER vacuum.
ReplyDeleteMy dad lost a toenail doing the vacuuming... it's dangerous stuff. I think that was the first and last time he went near the machine.
ReplyDeleteI will spread it.
ReplyDeleteI think anyone of the male species should be considered a trained professional.
ReplyDeleteHummm. That is too bad. I kind of like vacuuming. I must like to live on the wild side.
ReplyDeleteVery appropriate for me today as I just unpacked my new Roomba. I plan to do the vacuuming while I'm actually out of the house.
ReplyDeleteI just knew it was dangerous!
Even Nature herself abhors a vacuum!
ReplyDeleteoh yeah i only let strangers near the vacuum!
ReplyDeleteThats why I have an IRobot! (said smugly)
ReplyDeleteLove it!
I didn't know you homeschooled!
ReplyDeleteI have tried to convince my husband thet the vacuum is a power tool and thus his domain, but no go.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteI like to play it safe.
No extreme cleaning for me.
I dropped a coffee table on my head while vacuuming one time. So I have to agree it is dangerous, even for professionals.
