Okay, this may just be the worst sore throat I have ever had. I'm still not letting myself Google "diphtheria." But I spent a good hour and a half last night having panic attacks about it. Hypochondria is a harsh mistress.
Today I went to the commissary to stock up on food for the next 2 weeks, illness be damned. I did okay, though I think I was sort of whimpering by the time I reached the checkout. I came home and went to bed, which my contract definitely doesn't allow; but I don't care. My husband won't fire me, because he wouldn't be able to find anyone else dumb enough to take my job.
Not the best of days, folks; my usual light-hearted wit (ahem) has high-tailed it out of here for the duration. If anyone finds it, please let me know.
You are one strong woman--I hope you're in bed to stay for a while now.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. Isn't it awful how moms don't get sick days?
ReplyDeleteHere's to feeling better very soon, and getting enough rest in the meantime (I know, as if).
ReplyDeleteYou rock, honey. A superb shiny kick-ass post a day? You've been doing it, even if you think you're tired. Whoop and holler!
ReplyDeleteOh poor you. Here's sending you lots of healty get well cyber vibes! Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
ReplyDeleteHeidi
Isn't it hard to be sick when you're a mom?
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon!!
No, no, no, you got that wrong. He wouldn't find anybody *tough* enough to take that job.
ReplyDeleteI predict that once you are up and around again, everyone will treat you nicely [even the teenagers], if only for half a day, because they will be so happy to have Mom back.
When they do, get it bronzed or get it notarized. Just sayin'.
Ay and ugh! It's going around, isn't it? Hope you're feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteSore throats are the worst in my book. Hope you're on the mend.
ReplyDeleteOh I would make you soup and tea and rub your feet if I lived nearby. This will pass. But good luck and godspeed.
ReplyDeleteha. My husband is a hypochondriac. Once, he got a cramp in his big toe and swore he must have leprosy....
ReplyDeleteNever ever google a disease or you will be convinced you have it. Hope you get feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThroat coat or slippery elm tea is my trick. Sorry -- hope you feel better, my dear.
ReplyDeletemommy sickness is bad. bad bad bad.
ReplyDeletei hope you start feeling better soon.
Feel better. Being sick is so icky. So sorry.
ReplyDeleteSore throats are really tough on Mommies! Are you sure you don't have Strep? You'll need antibiotics to get rid of it. (Open you mouth in the mirror, shine a flash light at the back and look for white blotches.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to have a fever to have strep. No biggie, just get some Zithromax, or Amoxicillin to kill it.
My husband won't fire me, because he wouldn't be able to find anyone else dumb enough to take my job....
ReplyDeleteI am inscribing this on my wall!
Get well soon! I'm sending you a virtual hot toddy.
So sorry you are feeling the yucks. Glad you stocked up.
ReplyDeleteThe contract should have a clause for raging sore throats.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon.
Get lots of rest, stay away from Google and feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteSure hope you feel better - After many days of a sore throat I took my son to the doctor. He had a throat and a sinus infection. Maybe if he had complained more I would have taken him sooner - strange child - so different than his sisters. Signed, Still a Fan
ReplyDeleteI hate it when I get sick. Hubby and the kids still need attention and the housework doesn't get done.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I had bronchitis, the Dr told me she could write me a note so I could stay home. I told her I'd rather be at work. I get paid to sit at a desk and answer the phone at a computer helpdesk. I get more rest here than I would at home.
