I have no idea what happened to the last 3 days. Sleep deprivation will do that to a person. That, and chronic campaign watching...I think I am going to have to impose a news blackout on myself in order to get through the next 5 weeks.
Everyone keeps coughing. Me, too. So 2 nights ago I took some of Rachel's codeine cough syrup from January (of course I held on to it, I'm not stupid) and settled down in hopes of getting 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I gave some to Rachel, too. One hour later she's standing by my bed with a stomachache. Crap. Looks like the codeine doesn't agree with her, as the stomachache wore off at the same time the medicine did.
So I didn't sleep Friday night. All day Saturday I had to help run our townhouse cluster's grounds clean-up and barbeque. All day - don't these people realize I need to blog? Last night I collapsed into bed, but somehow ended up on the couch again. It worries me that I don't even remember why. Rachel is still coughing. And, no, I don't know where Larry is during all these nighttime disturbances. He sacrificed his entire Saturday to help with the clean-up and the barbeque, so I'm not about to bitch at him. Besides, he goes away today for his management retreat (again); and I want him to want to come back.
David's missing - at least, I haven't seen him around. Or heard him coughing. Maybe Larry knows where he is.
There was one bright spot in the past few days, but you have to go here to read about it. Because I'm lazy like that.
I can tell you where MY weekend is going. Into the black hole of soccer. And I'm right there with you on the sleep deprivation. I'm up like clockwork at 1:30 and 4:30, and sometimes I don't get back to sleep in between. (It's the Baby Girl-on-bladder wake-up call.) Want my number? We can chat while we're not sleeping.
ReplyDeletewe are all coughing and hacking at my house and i was up two times last night with sick and fevered children. ohhhh, i'm tired...
ReplyDeleteCodeine is not my friend either. Poor kid. Poor mommy. Hope you and the clan can sleep. A lot. Soon.
ReplyDeleteMy 2 yr old woke up twice last night. He has a cold and runny nose and just wants to nurse all night. He was pissed that nursing did not get him much of a reward. Pregnancy will do that to mom's supply. So I got up with him to get him a drink. It was hard to drag myself out of bed to go to work this am. Which genius decided to close all the entrances to North Parking except for the one off Boundary Channel? I though I would be able to get there from Spout Run, as 27 and 110 were closed. Nope, I had to drive to Army Navy drive and ask the Arlington Policeman at one of the parking lots how to get to North Parking. :(
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew where all my tupperware cups and covers went, as the few old ones I can find don't stay on the cups and leak. Time to email the tupperware lady again.
Ahhhh those were the days, my little ones are all grown (see you will survive). LOL you crack me up! Wondering if I should take your lead with the Wednesday food toss. Naw not a good idea, it's just the two of us, no longer the 8 of us and that would just be too disgusting and explicable. :o)
ReplyDeleteI've been coughing for two weeks. I'm rather over it.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry everyone is sick around there. Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with this election. I can't believe there is another month to go!

Thanks for the Anna update. I was wondering what happened to the girl since you haven't mentioned her in a while.
ReplyDeleteOh, I know that hacking cough. It has traveled from room to room in this house over the past 3 weeks.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
Oh he'll come back, remember your agreement? I don't think he wants all those kids alone.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that the Real Anna popped in this weekend! Here's hoping she stops by more often. :)
ReplyDeleteHope the sickness passes soon. BTW, aren't we supposed to stay healthier without kids in the public schools?
Don't I wish!
ReplyDeleteHope you get some rest and the cough goes away!
ReplyDeleteSomeday I've got to blog about the day I thanked my then-16-year-old for her tantrum. Totally threw her.
ReplyDeleteUgh! O the joy's of being ill. I have been sick also, I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteHere's to better health. Soon!
Wow, I think *I* need a nap hearing about that weekend...
ReplyDeleteThere is a serious cootie cough going around in my school these days...some of the kids sound like they are going to cough up a hairball.
ReplyDelete"You know it's fall when..."
That was a bright spot. So glad the teenager is thawing out.
ReplyDeleteCodeine does not agree with my stomach, either.
ReplyDeleteKEEP BELIEVING
i cannot imagine how i am going to handle all of mine when they are teenagers.........
ReplyDeleteHope everyone feels better (especially you). One of mine has a cold right now, and I expect to have it within days. I'm such a joiner.
ReplyDeleteGlad you saw something sweet and unguarded in your daughter again, and I hope you see more of it.
