Hey! I took a day off! Bet you didn't even notice...but you see, I had to take some time just to rest on my laurels, as it were...because apparently I've managed to do something special.
I made Click and Clack laugh.
Yup. They linked to me this week, and my blog has been teeming today with people who apparently spend a lot of time at work looking at very unproductive websites.
Are they laughing at me? With me? Who cares? Click and Clack found this post funny. I think I can die happy now.
But before I do that, I'd like to announce that Susie seems to be potty-trained. Oh, I'm sure there will still be some accidents, most likely highly embarrassing ones in very public places; but, essentially, my diapering days are over.
After 17 years, folks...do you have any idea how that feels?
My post-election high has been officially extended one more week...
Uh-oh! Is your husband mad at Click and Clack for saying your real name?
ReplyDeleteNope, they used my blog name.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I know someone famous. At least I kind know you!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
On the diaper front. I changed diapers for 10 years straight wand 6 of those years I had 2 or MORE in diapers. Do I qualify to kind of know how you feel?
17 years is a long time.
You don't want to hear this, but...when the twins finally got out of diapers, I announced it to everyone I saw in the Wal-Mart parking lot: "Guess what? I did NOT buy diapers today! It's my first trip out of Wal-Mart without diapers in TWELVE years! Isn't that GREAT?"
ReplyDeleteAnd within six months, I was pregnant.
Congrats! Finally, the recognition you deserve!
ReplyDeleteMy Gawd...YOU woman, are having a GREAT week. Car Talk and no more diapering after 17 years? Highs don't come much higher than that!
ReplyDeleteWow! You are a rock star. They did use your real name though.
ReplyDelete17 years is a long time, but even though I had kids in diapers an uber-long time also, I'm sad now. I miss having a little one around. Don't tell my hubby I said that. :-)
Oh, the first day you leave home without the diaper bag...freedom!!! For me it was 12 years, and it felt heavenly! I thought I might miss it, but honestly, no.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on graduating from Diaper Academy!!
ReplyDeleteI should receive a gold diaper-pin-shaped brooch, shouldn't I?
ReplyDeleteI *BIG PUFFY HEART* Click and Clack!
ReplyDeleteNow I can tell dh that they gave a stamp (seal? Valve? Whatever!) of approval to your blog. It gives me something to aspire to. (Maybe I need to write some car posts?)
Hooray for the last of the diapers!! My stint was only 12-1/2 years, but I remember that glorious feeling of finally being FREE!!
Ah the last of the diapers! That is complete cause for a celebration! I love click and clack! How fun that they talked about you!
ReplyDeleteWow, having just gotten my last potty trained I don't know which one would be more exciting Click and Clack or the potty training. Either way you are having a stellar day and I'm happy to be a part of it!
ReplyDeleteLook at you, Ms. Big Time. :>
ReplyDeleteMy sister LOVES Click and Clack.
You're on Click and Clack! You are big time! That's even more exciting than the potty training thing!
ReplyDeleteOoh. I love "Click and Clack" -- congrats! You're in good company.
ReplyDeleteDone with diapers? You know you're jinxing yourself, right...
Seriously, it took 5 or 6 years for one of mine. I can tell you that after almost six years on the SAME CHILD, I was SO done with it!!! Newborn poo is nothing compared to a five year old. But not carrying a diaper bag is almost as good as the day they learn to seatbelt themselves.
That is so impressive that they linked you! They always make ME laugh, and so do you!
ReplyDeleteI have a parking cmera in the back door of the Van. It makes it as easy to park as my camry or hubby's oldsmobile.
ReplyDeleteNo diapers? Is that allowed? I suggested to Sam (26 mo) that he was old enough to learn to use the big boy potty and not wear diapers. He looked at me like I was crazy!
i love car talk. how awesome!
ReplyDeleteClick and Clack are better than a NYT review. Seriously, I love those guys.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that show. Mr. Hot hates it, but I think it's awesome. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the diaper days disappearing. Oh the joy! You have certainly put in your time - 17 years - that has to be some kind of record? ??
ReplyDeleteClick and Clack--that is the big time. I'm green with envy--plus I'd never read that post and it is pretty damn funny.
ReplyDeleteI am not done the diapers yet. :( The youngest is only 1 1/2... But I've been changing diapers for 12 years, and after the second was born, I had 2 in diapers at a time. Can I join your diaperless happy club soon? :)
ReplyDeleteCar talk and potty trained in a single post! Genius and nirvana!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a double whammy, click and clack and no more diapers after 17 years? You must be floating on air.
