Gone Visiting

I would like to announce that I am approximately halfway to figuring out how to use the "speed dial" function on my cellphone. Go, me! Thank you for all the supportive comments on yesterday's dinosaur post. And thanks also to all the people who refrained from commenting that I must be an idiot not to be able to figure these things out. Your mothers obviously did a very good job teaching you to be polite.

The folks at Mid-CenturyModernMoms have invited me to post there on Sundays. I believe "midcentury" refers to our age - it's a group blog for moms with older kids. So, if you're tired of reading about how cute my little Susie is, you can just wander over there and see what's up with mothers who write about things other than the preschool years.

I'll leave the door unlocked around here if anyone wants to come over and look around while I'm out. Just turn off the lights when you leave!

  1. I'll look forward to visiting you over at MCMM...but only if you promise not to directly quote Anna's pornographic text messages. That shocked my genteel Southern not-quite-mid-century-yet sensibilities.

  2. I would like to emphasize here that kalynne is referring to someone else's post over at MCMM. If my Anna were to receive any pornographic text messages, I would be too busy driving her to a maximum security convent boarding school to find time to quote said messages online.

  3. Umm, lights? I don't get it.
But now I'm intrigued by the porn text. I may just have to check it out. (I'd also like to mention that your search traffic may change a little after these comments. Think people looking for porn will be dissappointed? Hahahaha!)

  4. I'll be over there to check it out in just a minute since I'm a mom of older (college grads) and younger (age eight) kids. Is eight "younger"? Well, anyway . . .

  5. I just wanted to say I read your comment over at the Yarn Harlot's blog & I thought it was hysterical! Have a great day!

  6. Sure, I'll turnoff the lights for you.
I'm really good at turning off lights, because apparently, I'm the only one in my house that knows how to turn off the lights!

  7. I love their site. ;-) As another mid-century Mom, I can't wait to read what you have to say there, too!

  10. That was great!
I can also turn out lights, if you need to have the toilet roll changed, I can do that too in fact I'm the only one in my house who knows how.

  11. How exciting to be asked to "speak!"

  12. Lost - You must have gone to the special light-switch flipping, toilet-paper-roll changing school that all we mothers go to, also?

  13. That school must be where we get that special vision that sees dust and can find the socks that roam the house alone too.

  14. You go ahead and have a good time. I'll see that the counters are wiped down properly. I took the advanced course, because it seems there's a gap in the market for that particular skill.
