Ice, Ice, Baby

Today the plumber arrived to hook up our ice machine. I sure hope my children regard machine-made ice as the perfect Christmas present, because that plumber visit cost me $210. That's pretty fancy frozen water, if you ask me.

Merry Christmas, kids!

In other news, um, well, nothing. I drove around all day today, ferrying children hither and yon. Did the NYTimes crossword puzzle. Went to a birthday dinner for a friend. Wasted time on Twitter

I'm thinking I really need a regular job. I mean, once I finish the Christmas knitting. That comes first.

  1. Congratulations! Weird thing to celebrate, isn't it? But I bought a new one a few years ago. Somehow, seriously---no underhandedness involved---our old one died during our kitchen remodel. I hated the old one, love the new one!

  5. Hola! Found you through Jenny's blog! Have to tell you - ice makers can be a curse - especially when you leave for a week vacation to come home only to find the hose sprung a leak, causing $20K of damage to the house. Thank gawd for insurance! 25 years in this dang house, and it finally happened. Needless to day the hubby put an "on/off" water switch right next to the laundry room door so as we leave for a few hours (or another week!) that switch is flipped! So now we are using bagged ice, as we haven't hooked the darn thing back up yet!! :-/ Love your blog, BTW!

  7. I wouldn't be without an ice-maker now. I love it! I could never get the ice out of those silly ice cube trays which took up half my freezer space. Now I've got an endless supply of ice and cold filtered water. Beats buying those party bags of ice that I see people hauling into their cars too. Enjoy!
