Stoicism Was Never My Strong Suit

Whine, whine, whine - that's what I have been doing all day.  I'm sick with some sore throat/head cold thing my kids brought home (wait, am I allowed to say that when they are homeschooled?), and I am not dealing with it well.  ALL WINTER I did not fall ill, and now - now that the grass is greening and the trees are leafing and the daffydowndillies are nodding their lovely yellow heads - I am stuck inside whining away.

Missed it!

My throat hurts.  My head hurts.  And, worst of all, my tongue and the inside of my lips are COVERED with cold sores.  I'm hungry, but it hurts to eat anything but ice cream.

Today was free ice cream day at Ben and Jerry's, and I was too sick to go.

And the handyman is here every single morning, which I know is a good thing, because Larry's latest destruction/construction project is nearing an end; but it is hard to have a stranger in the house when I feel like crap.

Have I mentioned my throat hurts?  Oh, I have?  Well, okay, then...

On the bright side, the kitchen really is coming along nicely:

The wainscoting's cute, right?  RIGHT? And I think the paint color shows up truer here than it did in my post the other day.  Trust me, it's perfect.  And, if I'm lucky, it will be done in time for Bunko on Monday.  Which I'm hosting, if I'm not dead of cold-sore-induced starvation by then...

  1. Oh, I am sorry you are sick! It sounds like the awful stuff that I had a few weeks ago. I'm sorry to let you know the truth: it doesn't go away quickly. UGH.

  3. A cold seems wrong at any time of year, but especially in springtime. I hope you feel better soon.

    I like the wainscoting.

Okay, trying this again. Go send husband to get Peroxyl from CVS. It's a mouthwash. IT will help. Also, hot tea with honey. I'm sorry to say we had it in February and March. Yes, both months.

  5. Do you insulate behind the cabinets also?
Sorry you are sick. My kids had a nasty stomach bug last week and the cold with the horrible sinus congestion also. It was not a fun week. # 2 has the stomach thing now. She rarely gets sick.

    1. Luckily, the cabinets are not on outside walls, so we don't have to. And, as far as stomach bugs are concerned, it looks as though the magic powers of my bottle of flat 7UP are still holding strong !
