Brain Candy

Watch tonight's debate? (Gaaah! I know, politics) Does Obama make brains look sexy, or what? I had to convince the kids I was drooling over health care policy.

Wondering what was true or false in the debate? Go here for the latest. Also a fantastic site for truth-checking is this one. Its truth-o-meter (a portion of which you can see over there to the left) is one of my favorite features. (I particularly like its "Liar, liar, pants on fire" rating.) Both sites seem to be fairly unbiased and extremely informative. Go! What are you waiting for?

Oh. That's right, we need the results of the candy poll. Just a second, I need to check my tallies. Let's see - it looks as though Reese's Peanut Butter Cups pulled ahead at the last moment to win with 6 votes. A close second with 5 votes were the terrorist-sympathizer Butterfingers.

Really, I think you guys voted for those just to yank my chain. I can't believe anyone likes them.

Personally? I go for the KitKats (2 votes). And the Twix (4). Oh, and the mini Snickers, of course (3 votes). And, really, is there anyone who can turn down those Peanut Butter Cups? But I draw the line at 3 Musketeers (3 votes) - they've never done much for me.

So now you know why I have 6 kids - I get more loot on Halloween. It's that simple.

  1. Hey, you promised no more politics. It's ok, I actually followed those links and they were really interesting.

  2. Ha! I LOVE it! "So now you know why I have 6 kids-I get more loot on Halloween. It's that simple." That sounds incredibly reasonable to me!!! :)

I'm one-upping you in the relatively near future. Come see my post about the TC 10 mile run...about halfway down the post you'll see how! ;)

  3. I knew I should have had more kids!

  4. I sort of watched the debates tonight. I'm just so tired of it all, and so totally disillusioned. I would much rather watch Tina Fey impersonating Sarah Palin on SNL.

  5. Brains are ALWAYS sexy. It's why I married the man I did! Woo-hoo for wit and sexiness!

  6. More kids = more candy? I never thought of it that way. Too late for me though, I've been "fixed". Maybe I'll borrow a few : )

  7. You may have my share of the Peanut Butter Cups. Love PB. Love chocolate. For some inexplicable reason, I *loathe* Peanut Butter Cups. [So now you know somebody who can turn them down!]

  8. I didn't promise no more politics. I said, "Wouldn't it be great if..." But it's too tempting to discuss them. Also, I really wanted people to have those fact-checking sites. I've received one too many nasty chain e-mails to deprive people of a chance to learn the truth about all these issues.

  9. I missed the candy vote? Egads! Better late than never . . . I personally go for ANYTHING with peanut butter in it.

I love your reasoning for getting more Halloween loot . . . with only three children I'll have to go and borrow some.

  10. Hah! You can send your Butterfingers this way, ok? I do feel like I'm chewing on bark when I eat them, but it's yummy, peanut butter flavored bark.

Have you ever seen the Big Kat---it's a giant kit kat bar---those were my post-birth treats---I ate three of them after having my son. Awesome.

  11. Oh, and I had never thought of Obama as sexy until I saw last night's debate. I think I'd sputter all over myself if I ever met him in person.

  12. Can't believe i missed out on a candy Poll. And no votes for Mike and Ikes?

Watching politics leaves only one certainty and that is,

    Everybody lies.

    Have a great day!

Now, seriously, no one but me voted for Smarties?

How about Atomic Fireballs???? or Hot Tamales?

Bunch of chocolate lovers, that's what you are.

  15. I missed the candy poll, too. Personally, twix is my favorite. Even my chickies buy them for me and if there are ever any in the halloween basket, they are MINE!!

  16. I love Hot Tamales! I forgot about those!

  17. Oh, and Mike & Ikes. Love them. Like jelly beans with more crunch factor.

Yes, more kids = more candy. Definite perk.

  20. I started taking an anti-depressant a couple weeks ago. I find I no longer care about politics. Was it making me sad before?

  22. Okay, call me a terrorist, but I do love Butterfingers. I never connected them with peanut butter, but they're delicious anyway. I like how they stick, toffee-like, in my teeth. Mmm. A little now, a little for later... ;)

I checked the PolitiFact web site, and was pleased to learn that Bill Ayers no longer blows up buildings, but is now a professor and an education advocate for the public schools in Chicago. If he's a terrorist, then I am, too. I wonder if he likes Butterfingers...

  23. oh my. I can't believe I didn't chime in on Operation Favorite Candy.
I am SOOOOO the BUTTERFINGERS gal.
    Sorry.
Not a communist or terrorist either.

  24. Loved the pants-on-fire ratings!

Obama's not only cool under fire and smart, but he adores his wife and it shows. It is so refreshing to see.

  25. Hey, in high school and college, I took my little brother around trick or treating. Not only did I get candy for being such a good big sister, but I got a cut of theirs, too.

  26. I love obama.

And butterfingers are a close second.

  27. Obama's bringing sexy back to politics!

    Long live the Snickers bar.
