Unwanted Information

Okay, so the bug guys came back to finish getting rid of the bats, and one guy said, "We just have to fog the attic." And I said, "Why? I thought the bats all left on their own." And HE said, " Yeah, but this is for all the parasites they leave behind."

You know, there are some things I wish I didn't know...

  1. ACK!! Ack!! ACK!!

Two mice have been caught at church (not in my office, THANK GOD) and I was hopeful that was the end of them, but today I saw More. Mouse. Turds. in the corner of my wrap-around desk. The scurrying you hear is me getting as far away as possible. My husband told me he wanted to set a trap in that back corner... I told him that if he did, he had to go to work before me each and every day to check the trap. I'm pretty sure mouse poop is better than a dead mouse touching my office supplies. ACK!! EEEEK!!

    1. Desks are overrated. Throw it out.

    2. Desks can be sanitized. I just want to be assured that the rodents are GONE.

  5. OMG. We had a bat on the stairs leading up to our unfinished and unused attic area last winter. I called my landlord and he took it to a bat rehab place because we are both tree huggers. Now I am thinking about the horde of bats that must still be up there and all of the parasites that are dripping down through our walls.

    Yay!

    1. Also? Bat guano. It's supposed to be hazardous to your health. At least, that's what they told me when they were getting me to fork over $550. I've probably been had.

    2. But I thought bat guano was excellent fertilizer...

  7. Actually no- mice and other rodents can carry hantavirus, among other things... Probably yet more things you don't need to know. Don't google hantavirus if you don't know what it is. You won't sleep better for knowing.

  8. Oops. Sorry, SC. But at least you can reassure yourself that you have not been had, right?

  9. I am horrified for you. Parasites are small, that means we can pretend they don't exist.
